SpyOut Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11.06.2026

SpyOut for Faceit ("SpyOut", "we", "our", or "the extension") is a browser extension designed to enhance FACEIT pages with player reputation indicators, CS2 statistics, map performance information, encounter indicators, and voting functionality.

This Privacy Policy explains what data SpyOut collects, how it is used, how it is stored, and what choices users have.

1. Single Purpose

SpyOut has one single purpose: to enhance FACEIT match rooms, player profiles, social/invite lists, and related FACEIT pages with player reputation indicators, CS2 statistics, map performance information, encounter indicators, and a voting system that helps users evaluate teammates and other FACEIT players directly on FACEIT.

SpyOut is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FACEIT.

2. Data We Collect

SpyOut may collect or process the following data only as needed to provide the extension's functionality.

2.1 FACEIT Player Information

SpyOut may process:

  • FACEIT nickname;
  • FACEIT player ID;
  • FACEIT profile picture/avatar URL, if available;
  • FACEIT country code;
  • FACEIT CS2 skill level;
  • FACEIT CS2 Elo;
  • FACEIT match ID;
  • FACEIT match roster data;
  • FACEIT player profile data visible on FACEIT pages;
  • FACEIT CS2 statistics, such as recent match statistics and map statistics.

This information is used to identify players and matches, display reputation emoji, show player statistics, show map statistics, and connect votes to the correct FACEIT player ID.

2.2 Reputation and Voting Data

When a user votes through SpyOut, the following data may be sent to and stored by the SpyOut backend:

  • target player's FACEIT player ID;
  • target player's FACEIT nickname;
  • voting user's FACEIT player ID, when the user is authenticated;
  • match ID connected to the vote;
  • vote value;
  • vote timestamp;
  • reputation score and vote counters derived from votes.

This data is used to provide the reputation system, prevent duplicate or abusive voting, calculate reputation scores, and enforce voting rules such as vote eligibility by match age.

2.3 Authentication Data

SpyOut uses FACEIT OAuth to verify the identity of users who want to vote with their FACEIT account.

SpyOut does not collect or store FACEIT passwords.

During authentication:

  • the user is redirected to FACEIT for authorization;
  • FACEIT returns authorization data to the SpyOut backend;
  • the SpyOut backend verifies the FACEIT identity;
  • the extension receives a SpyOut session token used to identify the authenticated FACEIT user inside SpyOut.

The SpyOut session token may be stored locally in the browser using Chrome extension storage. By default, the backend session token may expire after a limited period configured by the SpyOut backend.

2.4 Extension Settings

SpyOut may store extension settings locally in the user's browser, including:

  • selected emoji style;
  • language/interface preferences;
  • enabled or disabled display options;
  • player profile settings;
  • local authorization state.

These settings are used only to keep the extension working according to the user's preferences.

2.5 FACEIT Page Content

SpyOut reads limited content from FACEIT pages where the extension runs, such as:

  • visible player nicknames;
  • match room information;
  • player profile sections;
  • social/invite list entries;
  • match IDs;
  • visible FACEIT player and CS2 data needed for the extension.

SpyOut does not read unrelated websites. SpyOut is designed to run only on FACEIT pages.

2.6 Server Logs

The SpyOut backend and hosting infrastructure may automatically process standard technical logs, such as:

  • request time;
  • requested API endpoint;
  • IP address;
  • user agent;
  • error logs;
  • security and rate-limiting information.

These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, debugging, reliability, and operation of the service.

3. How We Use Data

SpyOut uses collected data only to provide and improve the extension's single purpose.

Data is used to:

  • display reputation emoji near FACEIT nicknames;
  • show player reputation scores;
  • show CS2 statistics and map details;
  • show encounter indicators;
  • allow authenticated users to vote;
  • prevent duplicate, abusive, or invalid votes;
  • check whether voting is allowed for a match;
  • remember user settings;
  • maintain security and reliability;
  • debug technical issues.

SpyOut does not use user data for advertising, behavioral targeting, creditworthiness, or unrelated analytics.

4. Data Sharing

SpyOut does not sell user data.

SpyOut may process data through:

  • the SpyOut backend API;
  • hosting and infrastructure providers used to operate the service;
  • FACEIT APIs, when required to retrieve FACEIT player/match/statistics data or verify user identity through OAuth.

SpyOut may disclose data if required by law, to protect the security of the service, or to prevent abuse.

SpyOut does not share user data with advertising networks, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

5. Remote Code

SpyOut does not load or execute remotely hosted code.

All extension logic is included in the extension package submitted to the browser extension store. SpyOut may communicate with https://spyout.ru and FACEIT APIs to send and receive data, but API responses are treated as data and are not executed as code.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Extension settings and the SpyOut session token may be stored locally in the user's browser through Chrome extension storage.

Reputation and voting data may be stored on the SpyOut backend for as long as needed to provide the reputation system, prevent abuse, maintain vote history, and operate the service.

Technical server logs may be retained for security, debugging, reliability, and abuse prevention.

Users may request deletion of their SpyOut-related data by contacting us at: spyout-privacy@inbox.ru.

7. Security

SpyOut uses HTTPS to transmit data between the extension and the SpyOut backend.

SpyOut does not collect FACEIT passwords. FACEIT authentication is handled through FACEIT OAuth.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. User Choices

Users can:

  • disable or remove the extension at any time;
